Trauma Training in the Military
- Trauma training facilities are set up to give military medics ideal conditions for learning and development. East of Los Angeles is home to a top-of-the-line Navy trauma training center. With more than 600 beds, and roughly 6,000 patients admitted per year, it teaches military medical personnel the skills and information to succeed in the field.
- Military staff need various types of training, and this is precisely what they receive at the Special Operations Combat Medic Course in North Carolina. More than 1,000 students are trained yearly in life-saving skills such as administering medication, shock and hemorrhage management, splint training and other medical procedures.
- Some military medics get to experience trauma training outside of the U.S. A medical group in the United Kingdom offered a one-of-a-kind experience to Marine Aircraft Group 40 (MAG-40) in 2009. Because of this, MAG-40 medics had the chance to treat coalition and enemy forces.
