What is it?

WWOOF stands for World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. Started in the UK in 1971, the organization is the foundation for exchanges between organic farmers and volunteers. In return for volunteer help, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles.

WWOOF is an international organization, with organizing groups in countries all over the world.

There are such organizations in Latin America including Belize, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and yes, Argentina.

WWOOF Farms in Argentina

There are many farms that follow WWOOF guidlines and as a result are included in the WWOOF Argentina list of host farms. There are about 70 host farms on their list all across the country including Mendoza, El Bolson, Salta, Jujuy, Cordoba, and even in Buenos Aires. Every farm is unique and may grow vegetables and fruits or raise animals. How to Join WWOOF Argentina

What you should know about the membership-
1. Registration entitles you to a WWOOFer ID and the list of contacts of Hosts(farms) in Argentina which is sent to you via email.
2. With your WWOOFer ID you can make your own arrangements directly with the hosts.
3. Payment of $38USD is done with CREDIT CARD or PAYPAL.

4. Membership is valid for one year.

Tips About WWOOFing

* The only thing that WWOOF Argentina does for volunteers is to provide them with contact information to host farms. It is the volunteer's job to get to the farm and keep themselves safe.
* Host farms often have limited access to internet and receive many requests from volunteers. To ensure that you'll be taken seriously, be as detailed as possible about your dates, desired stay length, and prior experience that would set you apart from the other requests.
* Ask host farms what kind of tasks will be required of you.
* Ask how many meals are served and what is typically served.
* Ask what kind of boarding is offered. Some farms only offer tent space, others have cabins with no heat/water, while others are more comfortable. Make sure you'll be comfortable enough to stay the entire time you are planning.
* Know that these exchanges are voluntary on both the volunteer and farm's part. You can leave any time you like and they can ask you to leave any time they like. Contact
