How to Build Lemonade Stands
- 1). Arrange an open box shape using the 4-by-2 foot boards for the counter top and front and the 2-by-2 foot boards for the sides.
- 2). Screw the separate pieces of the counter together using an electric drill. Attach two or three screws along each edge where the separate pieces of wood go. For additional support, fit L brackets on the inside of the counter where the pieces meet. You can also use L brackets to attache shelves shelves to the inside by attaching them parallel to the counter top.
- 3). Attach the 4-by-1 foot board to the dowels to make a sign to put above the stand. Using the electric drill attach two screws on each end of the board and drill these through both the board and the dowels. This is not necessary, but is a good feature.
- 4). Attach the sign to the stand by screwing the dowels into the counter-top from underneath. This will require longer screws to ensure the dowels are attached stably to the countertop.
- 5). Sand the entire stand using a fine grade sandpaper to remove and rough edges and splinters.
- 6). Apply a coat of primer paint to the entire structure using a paint brush and allow to dry as per manufacturers guidelines.
- 7). Apply a coat of paint to personalize your lemonade stand. Allow it to dry, and if necessary, apply a second coat or a second color. Only apply one color at a time to avoid mixing the paint.
