Invest in Your Summer Time
Summer is here and you are ready to keep it real and relax for three whole months.
That being said, why waste your time when you could use it to better yourself and do something more productive.
Take these suggestions.
Make a summer reading list.
While probably just got finished reading mandatory text books, try doing some reading that you want to do.
Classics that you never read are always a good place to start but if you aren't into those there are plenty of other options to have fun with.
Try reading comic books or graphic novels.
If you are into mystery's then read those.
Biographies of your favorite celebrities are a fun possibility as well.
If you want to take it a step further form a book club with your friends.
Hold each other accountable for your reading and discuss what you read every week.
You'll be glad you did.
Throw a movie themed party.
Pick a genre of films and watch two or three movies in that category.
For example you could do mob movies.
Everyone dressed in slick suits and mobster attire and you watch Donny Brasco or The Untouchables.
If you are really gutsy watch the whole Godfather series.
Serve scotch and wine and eat Italian food.
There is plenty of room for creativity though.
You could something like watch movies about time travel or that involve dinosaurs.
There are almost as many options as there are movies.
Pick up a musical instrument and learn to play it.
Everyone wishes that had some musical talent, so why not try and develop yours? A guitar is probably the best option, though if you really want to play the tuba feel free to do so, either way it can enrich your life.
When you head back to school you can impress your friends (and maybe the special somebody.
) Lastly, and you probably won't want to hear it, but go find a job.
Yes, work can be a drag so try to make something of it.
Instead of settling for a job as a grocery clerk or mowing lawns, try to find a job that can help you in the future.
Look for a job that deals with your studies or something you think you might want to do.
Use the time to learn and network from others.
When you graduate it will give you some resources to fall back on.
Life is too short to waste it and summer is even shorter.
Before you know it will be over and time to return to your online courses.
Utilizing your free time now will pay divides for you in the future.
