How to Make a Paper Fortune
- 1). Fold a square piece of white paper on the diagonal, so one corner touches the opposite one. This makes a triangle shape out of the paper. Open the paper back up. Fold the paper on the opposite diagonal, and open the paper again. The paper should have an "X" shape in the center.
- 2). Fold all four corners of the paper to the center of the "X." This creates a smaller square shape out of the paper.
- 3). Turn the paper over, so you can't see the folded-in corners. Fold the four corners toward the center again. This creates flaps in the bottom of the paper that your index finger and thumb on each hand can fit into. When you get your fingers into these flaps, squeeze the points of them together. This shapes the fortune teller. Fold the finger flaps underneath so the fortune teller is square again.
- 4). Color each of the top four finger flaps with a different colored marker. Use a pen or marker to number the inside "1" through "8." Lift each of the inside flaps, and on the back of each, write a different fortune such as, "You'll be a millionaire," or "You'll marry your celebrity crush."
- 5). Place your index fingers and thumbs in each of the finger flaps. Once again squeeze the points together to shape the fortune teller. It's now ready to use.
