    Limited Warranty

    • Every iPhone 3GS owner is afforded a standard one year limited warranty with their product. Because the warranty is standard, it does not cost you anything extra. Your one year limited warranty covers any hardware problems that were inherent in the device; if the product is faulty because of the way it was assembled or a bad part, Apple will repair it or replace it for free. The warranty does not, however, cover damage to the hardware for which you are responsible. If you drop the phone, for instance, Apple will not fix it for free under the limited warranty.

    Technical Support

    • In addition to the one year limited warranty, Apple offers all iPhone 3GS owners a 90 day complimentary technical support plan. During this 90 day period, technical support is offered over the phone. This support covers installation and setup for both the software and hardware on your device. Complimentary technical support also covers connectivity issues and basic setup.

    AppleCare

    • If you want to have support for longer than the standard warranty and complimentary technical support offers, you can purchase an AppleCare plan. An AppleCare plan will afford you support for your iPhone 3GS for two years from the date of purchase. You must buy a plan within the first year of your ownership. AppleCare offers software support, and free repairs for hardware issues that are no fault of your own. You can either call the support center over the phone or bring your iPhone into an Apple Store.

    Other Support

    • Even after your warranty or AppleCare runs out, you can still get help from Apple – if you are willing to pay for it. If you live near an Apple retail store, their in-store "Genius Bar" will diagnose and repair your device. You can also send your phone to Apple through the mail. The easiest way to find out how to send in your device is to visit the Apple website and click "Support" at the top of the screen. Go to the "iPhone" section and choose "Get Started" to find out how to get your phone serviced.
