Nearby Attractions

• Just two blocks away is one of Oslo's most popular shopping areas called Karl Johans Gate. You'll find a variety of shops and boutiques here, as well as attractions like the Royal Palace Oslo, the Oslo National Theatre, the Palace Park, Oslo Cathedral and a large pond that's used for ice skating in winter. Another popular architectural and cultural attraction nearby is the Oslo Opera House. Newly opened in 2008, the Opera House has a flat iceberg-like shape, and it was built by the same architects who constructed the library in Alexandria, Egypt.
  
  

Things to Do

• Once you have visited all of the city's attractions, plan a trip to Oslo's countryside. Approximately five miles outside of town, you'll find a variety of nature areas you can visit such as public beaches, golf courses or hiking and biking areas. If you're visiting Oslo in winter, Norway is known for its picturesque scenery as well as its snow skiing. Areas located approximately 10 miles outside of the city offer opportunities for cross-country or downhill skiing, and even for taking sleigh rides pulled by horses.
  
  

Transportation

• Most of the main attractions in Oslo are within a short walking distance from your hotel. If you wish to travel to another part of Norway, or out of the city to the countryside, the Central Train Station hub is just a few blocks away.
