What To See

Don't miss your chance to get up close to actual props, costumes and monsters including many from series three of the hit BBC TV program starring David Tennant and Freema Agyeman in the largest exhibition of its kind showing over 100 exhibits.
  • Meet the devious Abzorbaloff
  • Confront the deadly Slitheen
  • Avoid the terrifying Cybermen
  • Watch out for the dangerous Daleks
  • Dare to come face-to-face with the evil Empress of Racnoss

Personal Highlights

  • The Tardis Chromomakey Dome is basically a blue screen for you to stand in front of so you appear on a screen to be inside the Tardis.
  • In the Making Monsters area there are boxes for you to feel exhibits and try to guess what they are. You can then lift the lid and check.
  • Pretend to be a dalek! Step into a dalek and say, "Exterminate!" into a microphone and your voice becomes like a dalek. My daughter thought this was hilarious. And children who had been afraid earlier on loved this at the end of the exhibition.

Doctor Who Exhibition Review

The Museum Hall is in the basement of Earl's Court so there are stairs to get to the start, but there is an accessible entrance so let staff know if stairs are a problem. (The kids I went with loved the lift and thought they were in the Tardis!)

At the start of the exhibition you are greeted by the current Doctor Who and his Tardis. It can get a bit congested here while everyone listens to the message from the Doctor so be prepared to wait a few minutes. It gets much clearer once you're past this spot, although some exhibits are really popular and have constant crowds of people wanting their photo taken. And that's one of the great things about this exhibition - you can take photos! Everyone loved this and children and adults were keen to be snapped next to their favorite characters. I'm sure lots of the parents were more excited than the children which is one of the wonderful things about Doctor Who.

Throughout the winding route there is constant Doctor Who theme music and atmospheric sounds and it really gets the adrenalin pumping. There really is a buzz as everyone there loves the show so much.

I think this is a well-priced exhibition and a must for all fans of the TV show. I strongly recommend this exhibition.

If you want to make a full day out in London when you come to see this show, South Kensington is only a few stops away on the tube and has the big three museums: the V&A, Natural History Museum, and Science Museum. These are all free and appeal to all ages.
