Barcelona to France
Barcelona is only 150km from the French border. This makes visiting France from Barcelona (or vice versa) very easy to do.

As of December 2013, there is a non-stop high-speed train from Barcelona to Paris. The journey takes six hours and twenty minutes, departing from Barcelona Sants station and arriving at Gare de Lyon in Paris.

For the moment, most services from Barcelona to France require a change in Figueres, as the trains need to change gauge. There are direct services to Barcelona to Montpellier but they are a lot slower than services that change in Figueres. Matters might change in December 2013 but the new timetables have not yet been announced.
