    • 1). Raise the hood of the vehicle to access the battery. Remove the grounding cable from the negative terminal using a wrench or pliers. The cable connects the battery to the frame or chassis of the vehicle.

    • 2). Loosen the nut on the positive battery lead with the wrench. Place the ring terminal from the amplifier kit on the positive lead and replace the nut to the bolt on the post.

    • 3). Remove the fuse from the fuse compartment of the ring terminal. Keep track of the fuse, as you will need to reinstall it after the amp is connected.

    • 4). Plug the power cable from the amp kit into the end of the ring terminal.

    • 5). Feed the power cable through the firewall opening behind the engine. If no opening exists, drill a hole in the firewall and place a rubber grommet in the opening before routing the power cable through to the inside of the vehicle cabin.

    • 6). Remove the factory stereo. Consult the vehicle repair manual for proper removal instructions.

    • 7). Plug the patch cables from the wiring kit into the appropriate outlets on the rear panel of your stereo. If the stock stereo is not capable of receiving the amplifier wiring kit patch cables, disconnect the stereo wiring and plug the wiring harness adapter into the stereo. Plug the patch cables and vehicle stereo wiring into the wiring harness adapter leads.

    • 8). Run the amplifier wiring through the back of the stereo dock and down to the floor of the vehicle. The cables will emerge from beneath the center dash panel. If your vehicle has a center console that is not open to the underside of the dashboard, consult your vehicle repair manual for instructions on stereo wiring. Find the route to run the patch cables to the location of your amplifier.

    • 9). Place the amplifier in the trunk or rear cargo area of your vehicle. For amps placed beneath the seat, place plastic spacers beneath the amplifier to provide proper ventilation.

Connect speaker wiring to the amplifier's outputs. Route the wires to the speakers you want to receive the boosted signal.
