Does Chocolate Directly Cause Acne?

103 7
This is probably one of the most common questions that is asked about acne around the world today.
The problem is, there is no definite answer because it depends on the person - it is truly subjective.
Chocolate may well trigger acne in one person but do nothing to the next person.
That's because our internal environments, our ability to process food, detoxify the blood by filtering through vital organs are all determined in the majority by our genetic makeup but also by our environment.
I'll explain further.
If John, for example, is suffering from a yeast infection that is caused from excess sugar in the diet, then it follows that chocolate will almost certainly cause acne for him.
However, if Suzi is suffering from acne because of an allergy that she is unaware of, or because her hormones are unbalanced, then it's likely that chocolate will have a minimal affect for her.
This is what makes the argument so difficult to solve because on one side of the table we have those that stopped eating chocolate and noticed a notable improvement in their skin and on the other side of the table we have those that eat chocolate every meal of their lives and don't ever notice a difference.
Things aren't always as they appear with acne because the cause is multi-faceted and wide spread.
There are just so many causes for acne, you only have to browse an acne forum for a little while to understand the diversity of the condition.
However there are guides out there now that are beginning to piece together the jig saw so that you can start to do your own tests and step-by-step eliminate possibilities.
This is how I cured my acne, and I'm pleased to say that five years later I'm still clear.
