How to Copy an ISO Image to an ESX Server

    • 1). Click "Start," then "All Programs," then "VMware," then "VMware Infrastructure Client."

    • 2). Expand the name of your ESX host or cluster, then click the name of the ESX host you would like to copy the ISO image to.

    • 3). Click "Edit Virtual Machine Settings" at the bottom of the right panel.

    • 4). Click "CD/DVD Drive" on the left panel of the window, then select "Datastore ISO file."

    • 5). Click "Browse..." and locate the ISO file on your network or system hard drive.

    • 6). Click "OK" to save the configuration and return to the main Virtual Machine window.

    • 7). Click "Power On" to load the virtual machine with the attached ISO file. It will be read by the ESX Server as a copy of a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM and made available to the virtual system.
