Microsoft's operating system for hand-held devices, Windows CE--Compact or Consumer Edition--first appeared in 1996 and is based on the Windows 95 operating system. At the time there were a limited number of PDA--Personal Digital Assistant--devices on the market. Today there are many hand-held devices using Windows CE and an abundance of software applications designed to run on the operating system, many of which are games.

    Leos Flight Simulator 1.0

    • Take to the skies in this accurately modeled flight simulator with Direct3D hardware acceleration for improved graphics. Fly using instruments with the simulated instrument display panel incorporating radio navigation displays. If gliding is your favorite form of flying, the Soar module provides realistic glider characteristics.

    MobiSudoku

    • The popular number puzzle Sudoku is brought to handheld devices by MobiSudoku. Multiple skill levels allow you to set harder puzzles as you hone your Sudoku skills. If the puzzle is too difficult you can use the hint function to help you. You can set your own puzzles, although with an almost infinite number available that might not be necessary. MobiSudoku also allows you to enter puzzles published in newspapers and the application will solve them for you.

    Pacman 2

    • The classic arcade game gets an update with new levels and improved graphics. Fifteen levels to complete and multiple game speed levels keep the game play interesting as you try to eat all the fruits before being eaten by a ghost. The game features a resume option, music and sound effects and can be played using a stylus.

    MobiCheckers

    • Play against the computer to clear your opponent's pieces from the board. Click the squares where you want to move and watch as your opponent's pieces that you jump over disappear from the board.

    Brick Slider

    • Brick Slider has its roots in the phenomenally successful Tetris game. Here though, you send the bricks rather than have them falling at you. Match the color of three bricks sent to the center island and, when they meet, they vanish. The game offers over 100 levels, excellent graphics and multiple-player options.
