When Was the Last Time You Had a Psychological Check Up?

There are many folks that barely function in our society, as they are all caught up in fear and/or lack the self-esteem and personal character to get through the day.
This is so common in fact, that either you or someone in your family is having doubts in their own personalities.
These doubts are stopping them from their full potential.
The other day, I was going through my personal library and I noticed a couple of old books on the shelf and thought I might review them quickly before donating them and clearing some extra space.
Let's discuss these books and how they might help you or someone you love get through a difficult time: "Self Esteem" by Virginia Satir - 1975.
Virginia before writing this work was a teacher and a therapist for 40-years and brings a little wisdom to the scene as you will see after reading this book.
The book takes someone through thought that they are unique, worthy, special and something of great value, despite what society may infer from time to time or others may project into their lives.
In our attempts to make everyone equal, we have over done it in our society, and we have confused many people as to what ego is and the value of self.
You see, earned ego is a strong thing and it is a good thing, false ego is not.
Value of self and self-worth and knowing yourself is equally important.
You should not dismiss yourself as someone who is unimportant, just like you should not fool yourself into thinking you are more important or better than you really are.
"How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie - 1975.
Dale in this classic work explains why worrying without planning and action is dangerous and why you need to take a good hard look at what is bothering you and analyze how to solve these problems.
He also talks about how to break the cycle of worrying, and constant stress over things, as there are things you can control and things you cannot, so, concentrate on what you can control or change.
He touches on the fatigue factor and then dives into how to find meaningful work, while lessening your financial worries and how he conquered his constant worrying.
Worrying causes stress, stress depletes vitamins in the body and causes tension, which is really bad for your health.
Stress and worrying also prevent you from doing things and being positive.
So, please stop worrying and get yourself a couple of self-help books for an in-house self-psychological check up.
They do not have to be these classics, you can get a new trendy book as well, but you owe to yourself to get to the New You!
