    • 1). Put on a pair of gardening gloves and long clothing to protect yourself from thorns.

    • 2). Get on your hands and knees next to the rose bed.

    • 3). Pick any petals that you see off of the soil with your hands.

    • 4). Place the petals into a plastic bag.

    • 5). Knot the bag closed when you are finished. If the rose petals are diseased, you don't want any to escape and infect other plants. Throw the bag away or burn its contents. Do not compost them. They will infect the new soil and spread to other plants.
