How to Make Cinnamon Cookies
- 1). Mix half the cinnamon with 1/4 cup of the sugar and set aside.
- 2). Beat the butter until creamy, then add the remaining sugar, beating well, about one minute.
- 3
Add the egg, vanilla and cream and beat together thoroughly. - 4). Stir in remaining cinnamon.
- 5
Stir together the flour, salt and baking powder and add to the butter mixture. Stir together well, then chill for 30 minutes. - 6). Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- 7
Roll the dough into balls and place on cookie sheets about two inches apart. - 8
Generously butter the flat bottom of a glass or other flat utensil, like a measuring cup or small pan. Dip it into the cinnamon sugar and flatten the cookie balls a little, about halfway, so some of the cinnamon sugar sticks to the top of the cookie. Don't smush them too flat because they'll spread as they cook. - 9). Bake for about 8 minutes, or until the edges just start to turn golden.
