Jennifer Murray is the co-author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw, a comprehensive book covering the many aspects of the raw food diet and it's effects on the body. She is also co-author of the 30-Minute Vegan and the 30-Minute Vegan's Taste of the East. She teaches classes internationally demonstrating the ease and delectability of vegan cooking, baking and raw food preparation. She lives in Kauai, Hawaii.
Before becoming an author, Murray was a head chef for the celebrated Blossoming Lotus Restaurant, winner of the Honolulu Advertiser's 'Ilima Award for 'Best Kaua'i Restaurant'. She also opened the Lotus Root Juice Bar and Bakery for the Blossoming Lotus, an organic health-food cafe on Kaua'i.
As an owner and manager of two restaurants, I've had the opportunity to prepare food for thousands of people. It can be intense work, but when somebody comes to you to tell you that your food changed their life, it makes it all worth it. Nothing is more satisfying than that. We all eat a lot of food every day and our choices matter so much for the planet and for our bodies. I love to shine a light towards more healthful, life-affirming choices for people. Making food fun, captivating and satisfying is a thrill for me.
