How to Determine Linear Feet of Cabinet Space

    • 1). Measure the length of the inside of the cabinet where you store items. The measurement of the depth of the cabinets in not needed. Linear only takes into account one measurement, which is length.

    • 2). Multiply the length that you figured in Step 1 by the number of shelves you have for the cabinet. If you have the bottom of the cabinet and two more shelves, then multiply the length by three.

    • 3). Write down the answer. This is the amount of your cabinet's storage space in linear feet. If you can add more shelves, then you can increase the cabinet's linear feet.
