Decorating Fireplaces
- 1). Keep a fire in your fireplace year-round with a tiered candelabra. Slide the candelabra into the fireplace opening and stock it with pillar candles in the color of your choice. Light the candles to enjoy a lit fireplace without the heat and hassle.
- 2). Stack crystal or regular wooden logs in your fireplace. Twine them with twinkle lights and turn the lights on. You may stack the logs as you would for a fire or stand them on end like artistic pillars.
- 3). Slide a small wire bookshelf into your fireplace opening. Stock it with your favorite books. Use tooled leather books with gilt lettering or stick to loved and worn paperbacks. Stuff the fireplace as full as you possibly can.
- 4). Lean a small chalkboard over the opening of your fireplace. Place a little bowl of chalk next to the board. Use it to play family games, leave messages or use it as an art area to occupy the kids while you relax.
- 5). Place a collage of family photos into a very large picture frame. Overlap the photos and fit them together like puzzle pieces. Place the backing on the frame and lean the frame against the opening of your fireplace.
