How to Make a Decimal to Percent
- 1). Select a decimal to transform into a percentage. For example, suppose the decimal was initially the fraction 24/36, which simplifies to 2/3 after you divide the numerator and denominator by 12. The decimal equivalent of 2/3 is 0.6666 ... Note that the ellipsis indicates that the decimal repeats forever. Round the decimal to two places: 0.67.
- 2). Find the percentage form of a decimal by multiplying the decimal by 100. Doing this moves the decimal point two places to the right. In the example, 0.67 times 100 equals 67.
- 3). Write the answer with a percentage symbol %. You would write "67 %."
