    • 1). Route the power wires and video cables from the area where the DVR will be installed to where each camera will be installed. Use a ladder to remove ceiling panels or to get up into the attic of the building while routing to the destinations.

    • 2). Drill holes through the walls where the power wires and video cables will exit to the cameras, and pass the cables and wires through the holes. Be careful not to drill through any existing wiring. If necessary, obtain a copy of the house wiring plans from your local government administrative office.

    • 3). Install the camera mounts by screwing them against the walls where desired. Use a screwdriver to fasten the cameras to the mounts and aim each camera in the desired direction before fastening down tightly. Be sure cables and power connections are securely attached.

    • 4). Locate the camera coaxial or digital cable jacks on the back of the DVR. On the back of the DVR there will typically be camera connection jacks labeled "Video 1," "Video 2" and so forth, or possibly "DV1," "DV2" (Digital Video 1, 2), etc. Connect each camera to the appropriate jack.

    • 5). Hook up the camera power wires to the provided power connectors on the rear of the DVR for powering the cameras if your DVR is designed to do so and no separate camera power box is included in the system.

    • 6). Turn on the DVR unit and use the instruction guide for the system to configure the internal menu and set specific recording features as required by your system for proper operation.
