Gather together any paperwork that you have on the amount of people in your household, the amount of gas you use per week traveling, the number of trips you take, how much trash you put out, how much you recycle, what your recreational activities consist of and how much local food you buy. Much of this will be estimated, but any records that you have will come in handy here.
- 2). Visit a website that specializes in estimating waste or carbon footprints. Examples include Enviroduck and Cool Climate Berkeley. Create a login if required to begin using the calculator.
- 3). Enter in the information requested to the best of your ability. Once finished, a personalized carbon footprint will be available for your perusal as well as an action plan for reducing it.
