It's never easy getting over someone you love.

1. Don't attempt to turn your ex into the green eyed monster.
   Trying to make your ex jealous is a very unreliable plan.
   There's always a chance it could backfire on you, plus it's not exactly a mature thing to do.
   
2. It's okay feel sad and depressed after a break up, but it's not okay to let your ex see this.
   You want love, not pity.
   You wouldn't appear desirable if you mope and cry in front of your ex.
   Getting your ex back would require you to be strong and confident.
   So if you are going to cry and act all depressed, it's better to do it in private.
   
3. If you think alcohol is the way out, then you're wrong.
   You can't turn to alcohol for comfort.
   Worse, if you get intoxicated, you might call your ex and say something you'll later regret.
   So instead of relying on alcohol in the hopes of forgetting the pain, why not turn to your friends instead.
   Let them comfort and support you.
   
4. Communicate with your ex only when you're emotionally stable.
   You need to be rational and calm; no use for more arguments and conflicts erupting.
   When you're ready to talk, discuss your problems and what you can do to solve them.
   
5. Don't neglect yourself, use this time on self reflection and self improvement.
   If you feel like having a new look, then do so.
   If you think you need some attitude adjustment, then make the necessary changes.
   Taking care of yourself will allow you to regain your self confidence, and confidence is important in getting your ex back.
