How to play "The Sims Medieval"
- 1). Start by completing the tutorial in the game, even if you know how to play. It will give you some basic tips. Then check out the lessons by selecting the options button in the lower left corner and has three periods. Read through each of the lessons.
- 2). Upgrade the bed in each hero's quarters as soon as you purchase it. Go to the furnish mode by hitting F2 key when looking at the interior of a building.
- 3). Purchase mirrors and washstands for each building, if they do not have them. Using the washstand and gussying up in front of the mirror are quick ways to increase your hero's mood.
- 4). Click the options button in the lower left corner and select "Save." Save often, especially before starting a quest.
- 5). Keep an eye on your Quest Performance meter located on the left side of the screen. This meter tells you if your performance is going up as your mood is in the green or down. Hover your mouse to get more details. Delay finishing a quest until the meter is at platinum to get the most rewards.
- 6). Complete the "First Steps" quest when you create a new kingdom. These quests only cost one point and give you 10 resource points, which is enough for you to purchase your first building.
- 7). Send your hero on a stroll through the forest whenever possible. This activity has random events that give you rare items and experience points. You have a better chance at getting a random event if your Sim's focus is high.
- 8). Build up your kingdom by purchasing buildings before allying with new territories, except for Advorton and Burdley. Advorton makes quests cheaper and Burdley reduces building costs. These territories do not appear until your kingdom's renown is high enough.
- 1). Wait to complete tasks. Don't complete two quest tasks in a row. As long as you're not received the "falling behind" buff, spend time building up experience points for your hero. Just because an activity wasn't one of your daily responsibilities does not mean you can't do it anyway to get extra experience points.
- 2). Prepare and carry food with you. Food can be transferred to a Sim's inventory by clicking on it and selecting "Put in inventory." When your Sim gets hungry, they can click on it and eat it. Moving around the kingdom can waste time. If your hero gets hungry, have him go to the nearest building to cook a meal. No one will complain.
- 3). Purchase an oven for more food options including "field rations." Field rations don't spoil as quickly as food, don't require any ingredients and won't give your hero a negative buff like gruel and flat bread does.
- 4). Cook and sleep at the nearest building when your hero gets tired rather than having him go all the way home.
- 5). Hover your mouse over a Quest Task if you are unsure how to complete it. It should give you an idea of how to complete the task.
- 6). Collect items whenever moving a hero around. Wizards, blacksmiths, spies and doctors can collect plants or minerals. Other heroes can stop to fish or collect wildflowers, which can be eaten or sold for cash.
- 7). Drag and drop items from one hero to another to transfer them. Make sure you transfer items to the hero who will be able to use it. For example, if your monarch gets mystical metal while on an adventure, drag and drop it on the blacksmith who can use it to create rare weapons.
- 8). Don't complete both daily responsibilities at the same time unless your focus bar is in the red. Wait and use one to give your hero a boost in focus later.
- 9). Keep a list of where rare minerals and herbs are located. Also keep a list of what items heroes have collected so you know where to find them.
- 1). After your monarch or spy proposes an edict, click on the table again and select "Monitor edict support." This will give you an idea of which edict will be passed. Select the table again and choose "Call for vote"
- 2). Sharpen your sword before doing any sword fights. Visiting the Peteran Priest can get you're the "Watcher's Favor" buff, which revives you immediately should you lose the fight.
- 3). Forging items with the blacksmith is not automatic like other tasks. You need to click back and forth between the anvil and the fire to keep the meter from hitting either end, which causes a mistake and lowers the quality of the item.
