    • 1). Turn off the projector and let it cool down for half an hour, then turn it back on.

    • 2). Check the 1292's error code window to see if the projector has encountered a serious error that prevents it from powering up. The error code window is located in the front cover of the projector, off to one side. Resource 1 may help you interpret what the various error codes mean.

    • 3). Check if the projector is set to the correct video input source.

    • 4). Check the projector's video settings. The brightness may be so low you can't see the image, or its color settings may need to be re-set.

    • 5). Check both ends of the projector's power cable and and any video cables connected to it.

    • 6). Check that the video source is producing a signal the projector can process. The 1292 may have difficulty with high definition video signals, due to its age.

    • 7). Check whether the projector's lamps need to be replaced. Aging lamps produce increasingly poor quality images. Immediately replace any lamp that has been in use longer than its recommended lifetime.
