1. Screen Brightness. Turning down the brightness or even taking it off of "Automatic"adjustment for brightness can help extend the battery's charge. You can adjust the brightness by going to main settings, scrolling down and selecting "Display." Adjusting the brightness dial to slightly over 50% will greatly increase battery life and still leave you with plenty of brightness for any type of lighting situation.

2. Change Radio. Downgrading your antenna from 4G to 3G will greatly reduce the drain caused by 4G. You can do so by going to main settings, clicking "more" under wireless networks, and then selecting "Mobile Networks" at the bottom. From there, click "Network Mode" and choose "CDMA."

3. Sleep. Also, you can set your device to turn off the screen or "Sleep" after only 15 seconds. This greatly reduces the time your screen is on and will greatly improve battery life, as the screen is what will cause the biggest drain of your battery besides talk time. Adjust the "sleep" timer by going to main settings menu, and selecting "Display."  From there, choose "Sleep" and click the "15 seconds" radio button.

4. Keep Charging. It seems when you first get your Galaxy Nexus, the battery seems to drain very quickly! After about 4 or 5 overnights of charging, you will notice your device holding a charge much better then when you first brought it home from the store.

5. Kill Apps. The more apps you have running, the more the drain to your battery. Make sure you occasionally go in and check your running apps on occasion and stop or close any unnecessary apps that may be running in the background. This will definitely help prolong battery life throughout your day.

6. Turn Off Bluetooth. If you only use your bluetooth connection on occasion or don't ever use it at all, turn it off. The bluetooth radio uses a fair amount of battery power being on and turning it off will help extend the battery even more.

7. Off. The final thing you can do to make your Galaxy Nexus last all day is powering it off during times that you will not be able to use your phone. Meetings, movies, dates, and other social events can be inappropriate times for taking calls or checking text messages so turn off your phone during these times to save the battery.
