How to Hide Your Craft Work Desk
- 1). Measure the door opening of a closet in your home, then measure the width of your craft desk. If the desk will fit inside, clean out the closet. Donate items that you no longer need or want and transfer other items to another storage area in the home. If the desk will not fit inside, find a different closet to transform, or get a table that will fit inside your chosen closet to use instead of a desk.
- 2). Check the lighting. It's important to have enough light when working on craft projects. If there is a light hanging from the ceiling inside the closet, that might be all you need. Purchase a battery-operated desk lamp for additional lighting.

Hang cork boards, peg boards and wall pockets on the inside of the door. When you're sitting at your craft desk, notes, directions, small craft supplies and photos will be within reach. - 4). Pull a chair up to your closeted craft desk when you want to work; remove the chair and close the closet door when you want to hide your work. The chair can be placed in an adjacent room. This closet craft area can be large or small. A large, empty closet might also have room for additional shelving or files, but a small closet might be all you need for small projects.
