How to Install Windows XP Bootcamp
- 1). Sign in to your Mac under any administrator account, log out all other users and close all open applications.
- 2). Start Boot Camp Assistant by opening Finder and navigating to the /Applications/Utilities folder from the root folder.
- 3). Place the blank CD/R in the drive, select "Burn a Macintosh Drivers CD now" and click "Continue."
- 4). Choose a size for your Windows partition. Allow enough space to install the operating system and any desired software.
- 5). Click the "Partition" button to create the Windows partition.
- 1). Click the "Start Windows Installer" button and then click "Continue."
- 2). Select the partition where Windows XP is to be installed after the computer reboots. This partition will be labeled with the <BOOTCAMP> tag for easy identification.
- 3). Format the partition once more using the Windows installer. The partition will now be ready for installation.
- 4). Install Windows XP. Your computer will restart when this process completes.
- 1). Eject the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Installation DVD and insert the Macintosh drivers CD. The driver installation process is automated.
- 2). Reboot the Mac.
- 3). Follow any instructions by the "Found New Hardware" wizard after your Mac reboots. Windows XP is now installed on your Mac.
