Common Blogging Mistakes

A blog is a very powerful tool for online marketing.
But if you're not careful with it, you'll end up with a blog that isn't reaching your goals.
Here's some of the most common mistakes.
Not Knowing Your Goals.
Your blog needs to have some goals.
Is it a search engine optimization technique? A sales and marketing mechanism? Or just to open up your business brand to give a bit more exposure? If you don't know what you goal is, then how can you know what should be writing about? Not Writing to your Ideal Reader.
Once you know your goals, you can then write articles and posts that really reach out to that ideal reader.
If you're not writing content that speaks to that particular person, then you will find it difficult to grow readership and convert them with your goals.
Not Getting Organized.
Most blogging software have categories and tags.
Be sure you think about this long before you write your first post, so that every post neatly fits into one category.
And what tags will you use? Be judicious and consistent - what tags will be helpful? If you're just adding categories and tags as you go, you'll more easily loose focus.
And so will your reader.
Not Blogging Often Enough / Blogging Too Often.
This is the most common mistake.
You need to blog fairly often or else people start to wonder if you're one of those many dormant blogs on the web.
But blogging more than once a day will exhaust both you and your readers.
(Yes there are sites that get away with very frequent blogging as well as very infrequent blogging.
You really have to be a rockstar to make this work though.
) Aim for a reasonable frequency, and stick to it.
Armed with the knowledge of these common mistakes, you can avoid them and make your blog successful.
