    • 1). Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausages and brown them on all sides for about eight to 10 minutes. Remove the sausages.

    • 2). Add the onions, bell peppers, salt and pepper to the skillet. Cook for six minutes or until golden brown. Add the garlic, oregano and basil. Cook for about one minute.

    • 3). Add the tomatoes with juice, tomato paste, Marsala wine and red pepper flakes. Stir well to blend all the ingredients. Turn heat to a simmer.

    • 4). Slice the Italian sausages into bite-size pieces. Return the sausage to the skillet. Cook on simmer – the lowest heat setting on your stove -- until the sauce is thick and chunky. It should take about 25 minutes.

    • 5). Cook the pasta until firm while the sauce simmers. Drain the pasta and then add it to the cooking sauce. Toss and combine everything, then turn off heat. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve hot.
