    • 1). Remove all power cables and accessories from the Xbox 360, then remove the front faceplate from the console. Unclasp the plastic tabs on the outer plastic shell and remove it from the console. Unscrew the Torx screws from the metal interior case and slide open the metal cover. Unplug the SATA cable from the Xbox 360 to the DVD drive, then connect your SATA cable from the computer to the console's DVD drive. Turn on your computer.

    • 2). Open a web browser and download JungleFlasher from the link in the References section. As of November 2010, JungleFlasher is the most updated and stable Xbox 360 modding program available, and it is also the only program capable of running within Windows (earlier 360 modding applications required MS-DOS and were prone to crashing). Run JungleFlasher and click "Modify Xbox 360 Firmware" in its main menu. Select your Xbox 360 then click "OK." The program will begin editing the console's internal .BIN firmware to run custom code and back-up discs.

    • 3). Wait for the firmware editing to finish, then close the program and turn off the computer. Unplug the SATA cable from the computer to the DVD drive, then reconnect the SATA cable from the DVD drive to the Xbox 360. Close the metal cover and rescrew the Torx screws, then return the outer plastic case to its original position. Replace the front faceplate on the console then reconnect all power cables and accessories before powering back on the Xbox 360.
