How to Increase Water Sprinkler Pressure
- 1). Find the water pressure regulator inside your home. The bell-shaped device is often near the main water inlet pipe, which could be in the basement or crawl space. Use a flashlight to illuminate confined areas.
- 2). Loosen the nut around the base of the pressure regulator with a wrench. Do not remove the nut.
- 3). Insert a flat screwdriver into the slot on the top of the regulator nipple.
- 4). Turn the regulator nipple clockwise to increase water pressure to the entire house or turn it counterclockwise to decrease water pressure. Note the markings on the side of the regulator. Do not set the pressure regulator to higher than 80 psi. Normal water pressure is set about 60 psi.
- 5). Tighten the nut around the base of the regulator when finished making adjustments. Run your sprinklers to check their performance and make further adjustments as needed.
