How to Poach Eggs in a Microwave With Nordic Ware

    • 1). Clean the Nordic Ware egg poacher with warm, soapy water before using it the first time. The egg poacher is dishwasher safe, but hand washing is preferable. Dry the dish well.

    • 2). Rub a small amount of margarine or butter in the cups of the egg poacher to give them a little flavor if you desire.

    • 3). Break an egg into each cup.

    • 4). Prick the egg yolk with the tine of a fork or a toothpick before microwaving. This will prevent the yolk from running.

    • 5). Add a ½ tsp. of water in the cup with the egg and do the same for any empty cups. If you are using the four-egg poacher and only need two eggs, the additional water will create more steam for the cooking process.

    • 6). Close the cover on the Nordic Ware egg poacher.

    • 7). Set the microwave on high power and turn it on. Check the eggs every 20 seconds until they are done the way you like them.

    • 8). Turn the microwave off once the eggs are cooked. Let them sit in the poacher for another 30 seconds to finish cooking.

    • 9). Remove the egg poacher from the microwave with a pot holder to prevent burning yourself.

      Turn the Nordic Ware egg poacher upside down over your plate to release the eggs.
