How to Create 4X8 Photo Cards
- 1). Open your graphics program and open a new background layer 4 inches high by 8 inches wide.
- 2). Choose a color you wish to use for the background of your photo greeting card. Fill in the background layer with this color.
- 3). Select "File" and browse through the digital photographs you have stored on your hard drive to find a suitable photograph to add to the photo greeting card. Highlight the photo you wish to use and open the photo within the graphics program.
- 4). Crop or re-size the photograph so that it will fit onto the background layer. Try to make the photo cover about half of the background layer. Copy the photo to the clipboard, then paste it as a new layer onto the background layer.
- 5). Move the photo to the desired place on the background layer. Place the photo on the left, center or the right side of the background layer according to your desires for the layout of the photo greeting card.
- 6). Add a simple frame around the photograph, if you desire, by selecting a frame within the graphics program.
- 7). Select a font, a font size and a font color to add text to the photo greeting card. Enter your customized text in the text box, and then place the text onto the card. Move the text around on the photo greeting card until you like the placement.
- 8). Proofread and check the final arrangement of the photo greeting card. After a final arrangement of the photo greeting card, merge all of the layers and then save it on your hard drive (give it a name that will easily identify it). Place it into a folder where you will readily find it.
- 9). Load photo paper into your printer. Print out two photo greeting cards onto each sheet of photo paper.
