Native to: Central and South America

Fruit: The large brown pods are 5-12" long and 3-5" wide.

Size: The cacao tree is small, about 10-20' tall.

Hardiness: Can only be grown in a tropical location. It will perish if temperatures are below 40F or above 100F.

Propagation: Fresh seeds

Uses: Almost all of us are familiar with the main use of cacao - chocolate. It is also the source of cocoa butter. Some eat it fresh.
