According to them, unless an individual is suffering from severe dehydration, consuming large amounts of water has no preventative or curative effect on dry skin.
The moisture content of the skin is not determined by internal factors but external ones, these include cleansing, number of oil glands functioning and environmental factors.
It is believed by these experts that these factors will more likely affect the dryness of ones skin.
Water that is consumed will have no noticeable effect on the epidermis; as a matter of fact water, leaves the body rather quickly.
If you suffer from dry skin your best option is to treat it by using a moisturizer or dry skin lotion.
This will create a barrier which will prevent water loss.
So it seems that drinking large quantities of water will have no significant impact on curing the dryness of your skin.
How about applying water in a mist fashion to reduce dryness? Once more there are various opinions from experts.
There are those who support the idea that misting water on the skin will aid in skin hydration, reduce dryness and the signs of aging.
On the other hand there are those who argue that the misting of water on the skin has no real beneficial effect.
The opinion of those who are against the idea has more weighting when compared to their counterpart.
If you want to prevent moisture from escaping through the skin it is best to use a good moisturizer instead of wetting your skin over and over again.
If your environment is not overly dry, the moisture in the atmosphere will help prevent the water in your skin from escaping.
