How to Refill a Skruf Glass Barometer

• 1). Fill a container with enough hot water to immerse the barometer. The water should be hot to the touch but not uncomfortably so.
  
  
• 2). Fill another container with enough cold water to immerse the barometer except for the spout.
  
  
• 3). Immerse the barometer in the cold water with the spout sticking out. The air in the barometer will contract and cool.
  
  
• 4). Take the barometer from the container of cold water and immerse it in the container of hot water with the spout underwater as well. Because of the expansion of gas, water will enter the barometer through the spout.
  
  
• 5). Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until approximately half an inch of water covers the opening where the spout goes into the container.
