How to Install a CD Player in a 1992 Buick LeSabre
- 1). Open the hood for access to the engine compartment. Unscrew the negative battery cable from the battery with a socket wrench.
- 2). Pry the face plate in front of the radio off with a flat tip screwdriver. Pry gently so the face plate does not crack or break.
- 3). Unscrew the screws holding the radio in place. There will be a screw on either side of the radio. Pull the radio out slightly to disconnect the wiring in the back.
- 4). Pull the main harness out of the back of the radio by squeezing the release tabs and pulling away from the stereo. Pull the antenna wire out by tugging it until it is free from the radio.
- 5). Push the adapter assembly into the dash. The assembly will lock in place once pushed in far enough.
- 6). Take the wiring harness that came with the new radio and the adaptor harness supplied with the adaptor kit and splice the wires together. All the wires are color coded and they need to be matched with the wire with the corresponding color. Twist the ends of both matching wires in to a wiring connector and squeeze the center of the wiring connector until both wires are locked in to the connector. Wrap the connector in electrical tape to cover any exposed wiring. Repeat the process on all wires.
- 7). Plug the harness in to the back of the radio and the other end in to the Buick's radio harness. Plug the antenna wire in to the round hole in the back of the radio.
- 8). Push the radio in to the dash. Tighten the two screws with a Phillips head screwdriver to secure the radio in to the dash.
- 9). Connect the negative terminal to the battery with a socket wrench. This will provide power to the car.

Turn the ignition to the "auxilliary" position to test the radio. Insert a CD to test the sound quality.
