Monitor Connection

• Most LCD displays use DVI cables to connect to computers, but some have VGA connections as well. DVI transmits data digitally, and LCD displays are digital as well. For this reason, your LCD screen will display a much more accurate picture if you connect it to the computer via a DVI cable. If you use a VGA cable, you may notice that the image is slightly blurry because the signal undergoes an analog-to-digital conversion before the screen displays it.
  
  

Monitor Resolution

• An LCD screen has a set number of pixels, and the display resolution at which each of the screen's pixels are used is that screen's native resolution. If you switch to a lower resolution in Windows, the screen expands the output from Windows to fill each pixel on the screen. This can result in display artifacts. For example, there is no way to evenly expand an 800x600 display resolution to fill a screen with a native resolution of 1024x768. Some images may appear jagged or blurry if you use any display resolution other than the native resolution of the screen connected to the computer.
  
  

Dusty Or Dirty Screen

• Fingerprints or thick dust can prevent a screen from displaying images clearly. Periodically wipe your screen with a soft microfiber cleaning cloth, applying a little distilled water to the cloth to clean stains and fingerprints. Avoid using household glass cleaners such as ammonia, as these can damage computer screens.
  
  

Web Browser Magnification

• Web browsers have the ability to zoom or magnify webpages to make text easier to read. Often, this function also magnifies images. If images appear blurry while you browse the Web, check your browser's zoom level to make sure that pages are being displayed in their normal size.
