- 1). Schedule routine visits with your dental hygienist. The hygienist will have access to ultrasonic scaling instruments that can easily vibrate stain from exisiting composite or porcelain restorations.
- 2). Inform your dentist if the darkness remains after having your teeth cleaned. If the stains persist your dentist can try to remove any stain with his hand-piece and bur.
- 3). Taking an aggressive approach may be necessary if the stains cannot be removed with using steps one or two. Your dentist will need to replace the restorations completely to attain optimal results.
