How to Clean Fireplace Mantle Brick
- 1). Combine 1 oz. table salt and 1 oz. dish soap in a bowl. Add 1 tbsp. water and stir until a creamy paste forms.
- 2). Dip a rag into the paste to scoop it out. Rub the paste onto the brick mantle.
- 3). Let the paste sit on the brick for at least 10 minutes, then scrub with a stiff scrub brush. Wipe down the brick with a damp rag to remove any residue.
- 4). Combine 1 ½ gallons of warm water and ¼ cup trisodium phosphate into a bucket for an alternative cleaning solution. Dip a sponge or scrub brush into the cleaning solution and scrub the brick mantle clean. Rinse out the sponge or scrub brush often while cleaning. Rinse the brick with a rag and clean water.
