Duct Tape Beauty Uses
- Duct tape has many uses outside of the garage. Keeping a roll in your bathroom is not a bad idea. One manufacturer of duct tape, DUCK, knows how versatile the company's product is; it conducts contests throughout the year for innovative uses. One of DUCK's most popular contests invites teens to create a prom outfit. Duct tape can also be used to address a variety of health and beauty issues.
- A strip of duct tape can do the same thing as a zit removal strip. Cut a strip of duct tape to fit across the bridge of your nose or chin. Place it on your skin and press down to smooth. Leave in place for five minutes. Grab one corner and quickly remove.
- Use a piece of duct tape to remove plantar warts. Cut a piece of tape a little larger than the wart. Leave it on your skin for seven days. If the tape falls off, replace it with a new piece. After the seven days have passed, remove the tape and soak the wart in water. Rub the area with a pumice stone. Dry the area and replace the tape. Repeat as necessary until the wart is gone. According to a report conducted by the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, duct tape was "significantly more effective" than standard treatments of cryotherapy in banishing warts.
- Duct tape can be used to remove unwanted hair. Place a strip on a hairy part of your body. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Quickly remove the strip. All the hair will come out. Test the procedure on a small part of your body before attempting it on a larger area. This technique is very painful, but is as effective as waxing.
- Use strips of duct tape to enhance your chest. Beauty pageant contestants have used duct tape to lift their breasts for years. Duct tape can also be used in place of a regular bra when wearing a dress with a plunging neckline. It can secure the dress and keep your breasts in place. Runners can also benefit from duct tape. Use it over a running bra to eliminate movement while running long distances.
