I wish that I could say that my dating relationships and love life were great experiences. However, I have been burned one too many times. Take my last boyfriend for example. We were together for two years. We lived together, slept together, ate together and acted pretty much like a married couple. I even started thinking about marrying him. Things were going great, at least that is what I thought. I was dating a thief and liar it turns out.

During this time that we were playing house, we got a joint bank account and accumulated a pretty good stash of money over the year that we did this. It came up to a little over twenty thousand dollars. I came home one day to find that he had cleaned house, and I do mean clean. He had taken my stereo, television set, computer and had left me a futon to sleep on with a little note on the pillow. All the note said was, "It's over, good luck to you".

I was devastated. I went down to the ATM to check our bank account, but he had cleaned that out too. I immediately called the police, but they could not do anything since we had a joint account. They said that I was able to file a report, but in all likelihood there was nothing that could be done about getting anything back. I was so embarrassed. As you can imagine it took a long time for me to even think about trusting someone like that again.
