How to Tie a Silk Cord Onto an Ear Wire
- 1). Cut the end of the silk cord where you want to attach the ear wire at an angle, making a sharp point. Apply a dab of jewelry glue inside the crimp coil end.
- 2). Insert the tip of the silk cord into the crimp coil until it nearly sticks out the other end.
- 3). Hold the end of the crimp coil closest to the long part of the silk cord inside the wide part of your flat nose pliers and squeeze firmly. Continue pressing the coil closed by moving up the crimp coil with the pliers.
- 4). Open the loop on your ear wire by gripping one side with the flat nose pliers and the other with the round nose pliers. Twist the sides apart to open the loop. String the eye of the crimp coil end onto the open ear wire loop. Close the loop by reversing the twisting motion.
- 5). Repeat steps 1 to 4 with the other ear wire.
