How to Make Illusion Necklaces With Glue
- 1
Single strand illusion
Cut lengths of illusion cable, 5 inches longer than the desired length, using the wire cutters. - 2
Multi-strand illusion
Cut three or four more lengths of illusion cable, each 1 to 2 inches longer than the one before, to make a multi-strand necklace. - 3). Decide how far apart you want the beads. 1 1/2 inches apart is a good distance. Use 4 to 6 mm size beads, and plan for an alternating, sequential or random color pattern. (Alternating: blue, green, blue, green. Sequential: pink, blue, green, silver, gold and repeat.) If you're doing a multi-strand necklace, each strand can have a different color of beads or a mixture.
- 4). Mark the places where the beads are to go with white correction fluid. (If it shows, it can be removed later with a fingernail.) You will use these markings for permanent placement of beads.
- 5). Slide one half of the clasp on the string at the end. Make a wire loop to hold it.
- 6). String the beads in the sequence you have designed by putting a small dollop of glue on the strand where marked, then sliding the bead over it. Continue until all beads are strung.
- 7
Multi-strand clasp
End the strand with the other half of the clasp. If you are doing a multi-strand necklace, use a multi-strand clasp, with jump rings.
