    Spray Paint Canisters

    • Pepper spray normally comes in aerosol type containers. The canister is pressurized by sealing out any possible air from coming in. Inside the spray paint canister, there is the paint mixture, the propellant, and a pea. The propellant is the aerosol, which forced the paint mixture through the tub and out of the canister. The pea is a small, metal ball which is purposed to mix the paint when shaking it.

    Using Spray Paint Canisters

    • One would use a spray paint canister by shaking the can before usage. This not only allows for the paint to be properly mixed, but allows the gas particles to expand within the canister, allowing for the most possible pressure to be released, which ultimately created a smooth, strong spray. When you push down on the valve, the pressure from within the can is released into the open air.

    Alternative Spray Paint Canisters

    • Several alternative models have been created to the traditional canister. From hand-pump models, to moterized pressured canisters, the new canisters take the emphasis off of the use of propellant gases. This was due to a push from advocated stating that gases used as propellants in the canisters where used as toxic inhalants, and frequently became abused substances. Despite that harmful potential, hand and motorized pumps allows for constant smooth pressure of paint.
