How to Make Your Own Cardboard iPhone Dock
- 1). Visit the template website (geeky-gadgets.com) and print out the PDF file.
- 2). Cut out the edges of the template and place it on the cardboard. Tape it in place with masking tape.
- 3). Trace the edges and the dark lines with a craft knife so that the knife penetrates the cardboard. Remove the paper template. Trace over the cut lines with the craft knife or scissors to finish the cuts.
- 4). Fold the wings on either side toward the back of the dock and insert each wing into the slot of the other wing. Fold the small stands at the back of each wing toward the center. These will provide stability for the dock.
- 5). Turn the design so that the remaining flap is at the bottom and fold the topmost fold line up flat against the main part of the dock. Bend the next fold line down 90 degrees and the next line up 90 degrees.
- 6). Place the 30-pin portion of the sync cable up through the slot at the bottom of the dock.
- 7). Slide the tabs through the slots to hold the bottom dock portion into place.
- 8). Plug the iPhone into the dock and set the dock on a table or flat surface.
