Survival Is The Key
Previously, I had mentioned that survival is the key.
In this article, I plan on expanding on that thought.
Let's say that you are experiencing a mugging.
In all self-defense they will tell you to give the mugger whatever it is he/she asks for.
That is the best idea.
Your life is much more valuable than any item you carry on your person.
The only time I have been advised not to comply with an attacker's demands, is when I am positive that the attacker is only going to kill me anyway.
Then, if you die trying to defend yourself, at least you tried.
I have always heard to use the same idea as far as if an attacker is in your home.
Most robberies do not take place to harm you, but to take control of your possessions.
The average thief is not what you see in t.

or the movies.
The guys from Ocean's 11 are not what you normally see.
They don't usually have plans with failsafes and backups in place.
The fastest way for you to get an attacker out of your home is to cooperate.
In all situations, you should do what is necessary for you to survive, unless that means some horrible act.
Of course, the main idea is to prevent anyone from entering your home by putting multiple layers of security measures in place and making sure you are well protected.
There are many things you can do to prevent any kind of occurrence like this.
Stopping kind of situation before it ever begins is ideal.
There are wide angle peepholes available instead of the old peepholes for doors.
The offer a wide angle view of the front, so you can look at anyone who may be knocking long before ever opening the door.
Also, don't open the door for anyone you are not expecting.
