Seashell Wind Chime Crafts
- To make this simple children's craft, you will need: various seashells, fishing line, a screwdriver, scissors and curved branch to hang the seashells from. Clean the seashells and let them dry. Bore a hole into a shell by twisting the screwdriver from inside the shell. Be careful not to shatter the shell. String the shells with the fishing line. Make several lines of shells of varying sizes. String smaller shells at the bottom and the heavier ones at top. Tie the strings and secure in place. Use more fishing line to make loops so you can hang the wind chime on a hook or a branch.
- To make this wind chime, you will need eight seashells, a plastic lid, yarn, white glue, and a hole punch. Attach each shell to a piece of yarn with glue and let dry. Use the hole punch to make eight holes in the plastic lid. Push the end of the yarn pieces through each of the holes, pulling from the underside of the lid. Tie the yarn ends to each other to secure. Punch two holes at opposite sides of the lid and string more yarn to create a loop to hang your wind chime.
- To make this hanger wind chime, you will need a white wire hanger, several small shells, a screwdriver and fishing wire. Drill holes into the each of the shells. Avoid using heavy shells as they may cause the wire hanger to sag. String the shells on various lengths of fishing line. Tie knots between the shells to secure them into place. Hang the strings of shells on the inside part of the hanger. Twist the wire hanger so that the shell strings stay in place.
- Use the starfish points as a mobile base for your seashell wind chime. You will need five small sea shells, a screwdriver, and fishing wire or natural twine. Drill holes in the seashells with a screw driver. Cut five equal pieces of fishing wire. Loop a piece of wire through the seashell hole and tie around a starfish arm. Knot to secure. Do the same for the other four shells. Cut one long piece of fishing wire and place the star fish over it. Grab the ends and pull in front of the starfish, so that it runs between the arms. Cross in front of the starfish and then wrap around the opposite arms. Pull up again and continue this process until you can pick up the starfish evenly with just the wire. Tie or twist a knot and hang.
