How to Make Fabric Flowers for Baby's Hair
- 1). Cut the fabric into two different-sized flower shapes based on how large you want the finished flower to be. Make the second flower slightly smaller than the first. Cut two fabric circles that are similar in size to the flowers. Cut a circle of lace that is smaller than the smallest flower. The fabrics can be the same color or texture or all different.
- 2). Light the candle and hold one of the fabric flowers 1 to 2 inches away from the flame. The flame will begin to burn the edge of the fabric causing it to curl. Rotate the fabric until the entire edge has been singed and is curled slightly. Repeat the process with the remaining fabric pieces except the small lace circle.
- 3). Layer the fabric pieces one on top of the other with the larger flower and round pieces on bottom and the smaller pieces on top. Place the small lace circle on top of the stacked fabric. Use a hot glue gun to glue the fabric layers together. Glue a rhinestone or flat-backed bead to the top of the lace circle.
- 4). Glue the finished flower to a hair clip, barrette, headband or hair pin that will support the fabric flower. Wait for the glue to dry completely before allowing your baby to wear it; it should take about two to five minutes to dry.
